On September 20, 2014 in Visalia, California the Lord said "Imogene your crown is complete, you have earned your place in heaven" and the angels opened the heavenly gates.
Imogene Spencer was born April 30, 1919 in a small log cabin in Charleston, Arkansas to Edd and Roxie Cormack.

She graduated from Charleston High School in 1937. She attended Russellville Jr. College then transferred to Oklahoma A & M in Stillwater to pursue a degree in Home Economics. While working part time as a secretary for the Navy she met the love of her life C Wayne Spencer, a Navy radio instructor. They were married October 1, 1943. During their 64 years of marriage they lived in many states until Wayne's retirement in 1981. At that time they moved to Imogene's home town of Charleston, Arkansas to be closer to family. Both enjoyed traveling in their motor home throughout the United States visiting family and friends.
Imogene's life time accomplishments included learning to drive in 1957 and in 1967 earning her ham radio license W5JFS. She and Wayne loved the local Ft. Smith Ham Radio Club and they participated in many ham fests throughout Arkansas, Texas and Oklahoma. Both were avid Red Cross volunteers during disasters because of their knowledge and ability to prove communication via the ham radios. Imogene was very active in the Marietta Cumberland Presbyterian Church, the Belle Museum, the Charleston Alumni and Greenhurst Nursing Home in Charleston, Arkansas. Her hobbies included learning to sew at age 9. She loved making outfits for her family with her special unique touches. Imogene was well known for her many exquisite and hand embroidered quilts, nursery rhymes, The Three Little Pigs and the Wedding Ring. Her talents earned many blue and grand champion ribbons at the Franklin County Fair. She also taught herself the art of Norwegian Hardanger embroidery of which many friends and family are honored recipients of her masterpieces. In 2009 she moved to Visalia, California to be closer to her daughter and her family due to health reasons. She is best remembered for her newsy and informative Christmas letters, her ability to make friends easily, always willing to lend a hand and her famous secret recipe for delicious fruit salad! Her grandchildren will always remember her dry sense of humor, fried okra, awesome home canned green beans, zucchini, banana pudding and eggplant dishes, learning to shell peas and making homemade cinnamon rolls and most of all, her unconditional love.

She is preceded in death by her husband Wayne, parents Roxie and Edd Cormack, step-father John Mileham, brothers Leeman, Harold and James Cormack and their wives, nephew Don Cormack (Mary Ellen).
