Harold L. Arnold, 92, of Charleston passed away Sunday, Nov. 17, 2013, in Charleston.
He was born June 22, 1921, in Scammon, Kan., to the late George Henry Arnold and Olive Edna Reeder Arnold.
He was a veteran of WWII and owner of Arnold Coal Co. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Charleston, where he served as deacon for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Neta Arnold; two sisters, Edith Arnold and Thelma Arnold; and three brothers, Roland, Floyd and Milton Arnold.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Smith Mortuary Chapel. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery under the direction of Smith Mortuary in Charleston.
Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Sherry Newlon of Fort Smith; two granddaughters, Heather Vaughn and husband Jason of Fort Smith and Haley Newlon of Greenwood; and one great-grandchild, Grayson Vaughn.

Daughter of Peter Buel Mileham and Emma Lottie Jewell. Married Harold Lemoine Arnold on August 6, 1941 in Branch, Franklin, Arkansas. Mother of Sherry Ann Arnold Newlon; grandmother of Heather Ann Newlon Vaughn and Haley Elizabeth Newlon; and great-grandmother of Grayson Lawrence Vaughn.
