John Carroll Bradley, 65, departed this life for his heavenly home on Sunday, April 27, 2014, in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
He was born on March 28, 1949 in Pryor, Oklahoma, to Lester and Violet (Looney) Bradley, and moved to Charleston, Arkansas at a young age.

John graduated from Charleston High School in 1967, attended the University of the Ozarks in Clarksville, followed by further studies at Westark College in Fort Smith. He was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church denomination for many years, where his father pastored in various churches in the Charleston area. John was a Shelter Insurance agent in Pocola, Oklahoma for many years, after owning his own homebuilding business and gas and oil business in previous years. He was an avid horseman, winning many titles in the National Cutting Horse Association in southern regions of the United States over the last 20 years. John was a man of many talents, who was loved by many and will be missed by a very large circle of friends and family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Violet Bradley; and one brother, James Bradley.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 1st, at First Freewill Baptist Church in Charleston, with the Rev. Dairel O'Bar officiating. Burial will be at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Charleston, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.

Pallbearers will be Jack Redman, Chad Frazier, Chris Fitzgerald, Scott Smreker, Barry Lunney, Jr. and Ryan Taylor.

John is survived by four children, Adam Bradley of Pocola; Aaron Bradley and wife Heather of Garner, NC; Jill Bradley and partner Che Tidwell of Bentonville; and John Bradley and fiancée Angela Jarrell of Fort Smith. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Jessi Bradley of Fort Smith; Jayden Bradley of Bentonville; Allison and Luke Bradley of Garner, NC; and Hannah Ware of Fort Smith. John is also survived by his dear aunt, Shelba Sargent of Fort Smith, and several cousins and other extended family.
