Kenneth Howard Colvin Jr., everyone knew him as Kenny, 34, was of Fayetteville. The Lord gave him to us Oct. 19, 1969, and took him to live with Him April 25, 2004.
He is survived by his son of three years, Greyson Layne Gobel Colvin of Goshen; his parents, Ken and Kay Colvin of Fayetteville; his Sissy Kris Colvin of Fayetteville; his maternal grandmother, Lucille Verretta Morris, formerly of Blue Eye, Ark., currently in Springdale.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Oscar and Mabel Colvin of Springdale and maternal grandfather, Paul Morris of Blue Eye.
Kenny was a bright star in everyone's life, he always had a smile, a hug and an I Love you. He never had an unkind word for friend or foe. There will always be a tear in our hearts for his absence.
Kenny graduated from Fayetteville High School in 1988. He attended the University of Arkansas. He was employed at UPS for 13 years and worked with his Mom and Dad off and on ever since he was 7 years old. He worked with his Dad full time at Green Country Nursery in Johnson for the last 14 months.
Kenny had a love for automobiles, motorcycles, stereos and basically anything loud, fast or extreme. Even his cooking was extreme and more was always better. He worked very hard to have a strong, healthy body.
The gym was his hangout, the place where he loved to be. His dream was to build his own fitness center with a daycare so he could spend time with Greyson.
He was runner up for the Mr. Teenage America Body Building Competition in 1989, in Joplin, Mo.
He had a love for family. Everyone always looked forward to him coming to get his big hugs and see what food he came up with.
He was riding his motorcycle all day Sunday with no shirt on, trying to enjoy what he loved so much.
We want to express to his many, many friends that he always said he didn't have enough time to spend with each one like he wanted. We love every one of them for loving our son so much.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, April 30, at Central United Methodist Church in Fayetteville.
Burial will be in Fairview Memorial Gardens under the direction of Moore's Chapel in Fayetteville.
Memorials may be made to Greyson Layne Gobel Colvin Education Fund, c/o Bank of America, 3144 W. Sunset, Springdale, 72762.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Moore's Chapel
