Michael Robert Forbes, 18-month-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Dale and Debra Jean Parten Forbes of Springdale, died July 2 in Ouray, Colo. The child drowned during a family reunion. Born Nov. 13, 1976, in Siloam Springs, he was a member of Temple Baptist
Church in Springdale.
Survivors in addition to his parents include a sister, Mandi Gail Forbes of the home; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Guinn of Springdale; paternal grandfather, Casey H. Forbes Sr. of Malden, Mo., and paternal grandmother, Ms. Nancy Forbes of Springdale; maternal great-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ben C. Francis Sr. of Twenty-Nine Palms, Calif.; several uncles, aunts and cousins; and god parents, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Wooten of Springdale.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Temple Baptist Church, with Rev. Lee Payne officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Memorial Gardens of Fayetteville.

Services for Michael Robert Forbes, 18 months, of Springdale, were held at 2 p.m. today in Temple Baptist Church, Springdale, with the Rev. Lee Payne officiating. Burial was in Fairview Memorial Gardens, Fayetteville, under the of Nelson Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Pepa Guinn, Warren Pingel, Jack Forbes, Tom Wooten and Joe Forbes.

Child Drowns in Colorado
Michael Forbes, 18-month-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Forbes, 2100 Sycamore Place, Springdale, drowned early Sunday in Colorado.
The Forbes were attending a family reunion when the child wandered away. His body was found in a nearby lake about 30 minutes after it was noticed that he was missing.
Information on where the drowning occurred was not available today.
Forbes is employed at radio station KFAY in Fayetteville. A former Springdale policeman, he once worked at KBRS in Springdale and KGTO-TV in Fayetteville.
Funeral arrangements by Nelson's are incomplete.
