OZARK — Gene Butler, 68, of Ozark died Friday, Feb. 6, 2004, in Ozark. He worked in public relations and was a Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War and member of the Veterans of America. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel in Ozark with burial at Mountain View Cemetery in Ozark. He is survived by his wife, Hazel; five daughters, Melody Woods of Snowhill, N.C., and Christine Wyatt, Christy Hammers, Cathy Steidley and Cynthia Dhalluin, all of Ozark; a son, Brad Butler of Costa Rica; two sisters, Mildred Salmon of Dallas and Betty Drain of Farmersville, Texas; a brother, Travis Butler of Lubbock, Texas; and five grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Waits, John Moore, Pat Waters, Robert and Frank Phillips and Mike Carter. Times Record Online
