Fern the daughter of Oren Cecil Saffell and Susan "Susie" Juliette (Parr) Saffell. Bud the son of Bruce Glasco and Alma (Sutton) Glasco.

Fern Ruth Glasco, 80, of Jonesboro, died Feb. 12, 2010, at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jonesboro.

She had lived in Jonesboro the past six years, after moving from Strawberry. She was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Harmony Free Will Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Oren Cecil and Susie Juilette Parr Saffell; a sister, Jean Ballard; and two brothers, Dale Saffell and Talmadge Saffell.

Survivors include her husband, Bud Glasco; three daughters, Gail Cottingham and Marcie Walters, both of Jonesboro, and Joanne Record, Las Vegas; a sister, Madeline Stinnett, Little Rock; eight grandchildren, Kenny Richey, Tony Weaver, Darren Weaver, Jonathan Cottingham, Andrea Burns, Susie Scollan, Christie Tackett and Ashley Verser; nine great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Funeral was Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Mt. Harmony Free Will Baptist Church at Saffell with Kenneth Winningham and Stanley Vandergrift officiating. Burial was in Godwin Cemetery, near Saffell, under the direction of House-Gregg Funeral Home of Lynn.

Pallbearers were Kenny Richey, Tony Weaver, Darren Weaver, Jonathan Cottingham, Winred Saffell and Reg Saffell.

Louis Harold "Bud" Glasco U.S. Veteran
August 12, 1936 - May 23, 2017

On May 23, 2017 Louis “Bud” Glasco, 80 of Jonesboro, went to be with his Lord and Savior and his loving wife and soul mate Fern. Bud was born August 12, 1936 to Bruce and Alma Sutton Glasco in Tyronza, AR.

He was a veteran of US Naval Forces (1957-1961) and loved serving his country and being in the navy. He and Fern lived most of their lives in Strawberry where he was a retired farmer. Bud was an avid fisherman and was always hunting with his brothers. He was a big Nascar fan and a wonderful mechanic for the community of Strawberry and Saffell.

Bud was preceded in death by his parents; wife Fern; sisters, Leola Glasco, Dorothy Jean Glasco, Virginia Needham, and Elizabeth Calvert; brothers, John Glasco, Roy Glasco, and Bill Glasco; and grandson, Kenneth Richey.

He is survived by daughters, Gail Cottingham (Tom) of Jonesboro, Marcia Walters (Mike) of Jonesboro, and Joanne Record (Brian) of Atlanta; Grandchildren, Tony Weaver, Darren Weaver, Johnathan Cottingham, Christie Tackett, Ashley Riley, Andrea Burns, and Susie Scollan; great-grandchildren, Brianna, A.J., Josh, Alexis, Jaden, Mason, Cole, Dean, Adam, Landon, Briley, Brayce, Tiffany, and Haiden; and four great great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Friday May 26, 2017 from 1:00-3:00PM in the House-Gregg Funeral Home chapel in Lynn, Arkansas. Funeral services will follow immediately at 3:00PM in the Lynn chapel with brother Kenneth Winningham officiating.

Burial will be in Godwin Cemetery in Saffell, Arkansas. Under the direction of House-Gregg Funeral Home of Walnut Ridge & Lynn, Arkansas.
