Opal Lee Montgomery, 79, of Ozark, Arkansas, died Wednesday, April 26, 2017 in Ozark.
She was born June 11, 1937 in Lone Elm, Arkansas to Alfred and Gatha Edwards Johnson.
She was a retired Nurse/Seamstress.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband James C. Montgomery; four sister, Mary Wisdom, Ruby Patterson, Betty Wells, and Marie Johnson; four brothers, Roy, Wade, Truman, and Robert Johnson; a granddaughter, Jessica D. Montgomery and a great- grandson, Jase Kendrick.
Opal is survived by a son, Mitchel Montgomery of Ozark; two daughters, Betty Sue Irby of Coal Hill, and Vickie Lynn Bateman and husband Bruce of Ozark; three grandchildren, James C. Bateman and wife Monica of Ratcliff, Arkansas, Lucas Bateman and wife Crystal, and Christina Kendrick and husband David all of Ozark; six great-grandchildren, Braden Bateman, Kyle Kendrick, Sydney Bateman, Sierra Bateman, Kade Kendrick, and Sadie Bateman.
Funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Monday, May 1, 2017 at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Jeff Jackson and Brother Clyde Vire officiating and burial at Highland Cemetery under direction of Shaffer Funeral Home.
Serving as pallbearers are Kyle and David Kendrick, Richard Carpenter, Lucas, Braden and Jamie Bateman.
