Johnny Lee Hill, 75, of Lafayette, Louisiana, died, Sunday, April 28, 2013 in Houston, Texas. He was a Methodist. He was born October 6, 1937 in Ozark to James Pleas and Maggie Bledsoe Hill. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Melba Jean Hill; two brothers, James T. and Herman Hill; one sister, Faye Jobe.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 4, 2013 at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Highland Cemetery in Ozark, under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home.

He is survived by his son, Johnny Dale Hill and wife Connie of Shoreacres, Texas; two daughters, Debbie Hill Cosper of Sugar Land, Texas and Leslie S. Touchet of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; one sister, Jean Dicks of Ozark; five grandchildren, Jessica Miller and Jim of Sugarland, Texas, Sarah Hill of Houston, Texas, Cole Hill of Shoreacres, Amanda Cosper of Lafayette, and Jaya Touchet of Baton Rouge; two great grandchildren, Cameron and Hailey Miller of Sugarland.


The family will visit with friends from 10:00- 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 4, 2013 at Shaffer Funeral Home 2315 W. Commercial in Ozark.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Mary E. Silverstein Department Administrator Leukemia Department (Unit 28) The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center 1515 Holcombe Boulevard Houston, Texas 77030.

Melba Jean Johnson Hill, 72, a native of Greenville, Texas, and a resident of Lafayette, La., died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, in Lafayette.
She was born Sept. 27, 1940, to Clint and Lilly Mason Johnson.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who enjoyed cooking and was well known for always being ready to lend a helping hand to friends and anyone in need.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Highland Cemetery in Ozark under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home.

She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Johnny Hill of Lafayette; a son, Johnny Dale Hill and wife Connie of Shoreacres, Texas; two daughters, Debbie Hill Cosper of Sugar Land, Texas, and Leslie S. Touchet of Baton Rouge, La.; grandchildren, Jessica Miller and husband Jim of Sugar Land, Sarah Hill of Houston, Cole Hill of Shoreacres, Amanda Cosper of Lafayette and Jaya Touchet of Baton Rouge; great-grandchildren, Cameron and Hailey Miller, both of Sugar Land; a sister, Cassandra "Sandy" Johnson of Lafayette; and a brother, Leon Simpkins of Corpus Christi, Texas.
