Billy Gene Mattox, 73, of Alma died Saturday, December 11, 2004, in a local hospital. He was a retired Contel Telephone Co. supervisor and an Alma Fire Department Volunteer. He was a member of White Oak Presbyterian Church and Alma Lions Club.
Graveside service was held at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Highland Cemetery in Ozark under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Alma.
He is survived by his wife, two daughters, three sisters, five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Yvonne Wells Mattox, 77, of Alma died Sunday, May 26, 2013, in her home.
She was a retired telephone supervisor of Contel Co., a resident of Alma and attended Trinity Baptist Church of Alma.
She is preceded in death by both parents, Jack Wells & Loy Mae (McCellcan) Wells; husband, Billy Gene Mattox, and brother, Jack Wells.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Highland Cemetery in Ozark under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Alma.
She is survived by two daughters, Jan Owens and Fran Hill, both of Alma; sister, Bobbie Rae Stewart of Mulberry; five Grandchildren, Nicole Palmer, Danielle Milton, Gena Dyer, Darrell Hill and Kara Grill, all of Alma; three Great Grandchildren, Ashley Palmer, Karson Sims, Bailey Milton and companion, Jack White of Alma.
Pallbearers will be Elbert Stewart, Harold Hill, John Baker and Anthony Melton.
