Gorman Kelly was born October 12, 1921, at Cass, Arkansas, to John Henry and Leora Belle Wilson Kelly. He was one of ten children, and a twin to brother Norman Pleas Kelly.
He was a WWII Veteran, serving two years nine months with Medical Detachment 245 in Northern France. He received the Good Conduct Medal, three Bronze Stars, WWII Victory Medal and Honorable Service Lapel Button.
On May 20, 1947, he married the love of his life, Lois Marie Parker.
He was a Member of Ozark First Baptist Church, former deacon, Sunday school teacher, and a member of the Glory Singers Choir.
He retired in 1983 from Ozark Water Department after 30 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Alva Stevens, Joe, Ed, Norman and Carl Kelly, and sisters, Inez Walden, Eunice Hill and Pearl Kilgore, and by great grandson Gorman Jase Yates.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years Lois Parker Kelly, daughters, Shirley Leeds and husband Louie of Clarksville, Norma Yates of Ozark, Donna Jetton and husband Michael of Plumerville and son, Bruce Kelly and wife Debbie of Ozark, one sister, Hazel Faught of Ozark, nine grandchildren, Kelli Leeds Grigsby, Colby Leeds, Libby Yates, Doug Yates, Sarah Jetton Ingram, Phillip Jetton, Michael Kelly, Ashley Kelly and Kari Currier; fifteen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was an avid gardener, loved to hunt and fish and was "Pa" to everyone he loved. He will be greatly missed.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Ted Darling officiating with burial at Highland Cemetery in Ozark, under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Colby Leeds, Phillip Jetton, Douglas Yates, Jason Ingram, Michael Kelly, Shawn Grigsby and Wade Barham.
