ROGERS — John Preston Scott, 95, of Rogers passed away Aug. 7, 2016, in Springdale. He was born Jan. 20, 1921, in Brightwater, Ark., the son of George and Nellie Jane Deason Scott.

He was an Iron Worker and served in the United States Army during WWII. He was also a member of the Monte Ne Baptist Church in Rogers.

He is preceded in death by one daughter, Patricia Ventimiglia; three brothers, H.K. Scott, Sherman Scott and Bruce Scott; one sister, Gladys Gynelle Woods. He is survived by his wife, Marie Rawlings Scott of the home; three sons, John, George and Robert Scott; two daughters, Gynelle Walker and Nancy Horchler; one brother, Floyd Scott; seven grandchildren, Michael Ventimiglia, Paul Horchler, Justin Horchler, Lynne Weaver, Meagan Weston, Natalie Bowman and husband Dustin and John Robert Scott and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services 10 a.m. Friday; Aug. 12, 2016, at Benton County Funeral Home, 306 N. 4th, Rogers with Pastor Mack Mills officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in the Tucks Chapel Cemetery. Visitation: 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at Benton County Funeral Home. Online condolences to www.bentoncountyfuneralhome.com.
