Benton County Democrat

ORR, Homer Waldo - Homer Waldo Orr was born at Bentonville, Ark. Dec. 24, 1885 and died at the home of his father Feb. 18, 1909. He was the victim of that most dreaded disease, consumption, suffering long but submissively until he quietly retired from the scene of mortal strife and went to be at rest. He battled bravely for life. Last July he went to Colorado and from thence to New Mexico in search of health, but to no avail. He gradually sank until, upon the arms of his dear father, he fell on sleep in the quiet of the early evening of Feb. 18th. He grew to manhood here and had the pleasure of numbering all who knew him among his friends. He was a quiet, thoughtful, courteous boy, winning the respect of all whom he met. He was married March 1, 1907 to Miss Frances Adams of Rogers. To them was born one sweet babe, Grace Elizabeth. He leaves his grief stricken wife, sweet babe, father, step-mother, three brothers, two sisters and many other friends who are sorely bereaved. His own mother, one brother and two sisters preceded him to the glory world. While he had not made a public profession of faith in Christ until a few days before his death, he left to his friends the comforting assurance that all was well. The funeral was conducted at the residence Feb. 20 at 10:30 a.m. and the body was interred in the city cemetery here. R.E.L. Bearden.
