Collie Espy White, age 72, of Norphlet, died in a Shreveport hospital Saturday after a short illness. He was born Nov. 19, 1896, at Village, ark., the son of Willie and Janie McWilliams White. He was the custodian of the Norphlet High School, and had resided in Norphlet for the past 12 years. He was a veteran of World War I and a member of the Norphlet Church of Christ. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Effie Smalling White of Norphlet; six sons, Bonny J. White of El Dorado, Morris White, Doris White and Frank White, all of Norphlet, Bill White of Minden, La., and Joe White of Shreveport; three daughters, Mrs. R. E. Evans of Norphlet, Mrs. C. M. Wood of Luling, La., and Mrs. Harvey Amis of El Dorado; a brother, Dee White of McNeil; a sister, Mrs. Don Vinson of Magnolia, 18 grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Smackover Church of Christ with F. D. McNutt and T. D. Ison officiating. Burial will follow in the Smackover Cemetery under the direction of Young's. The body will be taken to the church one hour prior to the services. Pallbearers will be Edwin Lee, Hubert Pitman, D. L. Durham, Beal Priddy, Herbert Priddy, and L. H. Walker.
