James Brewer, 71, of Kensett departed this world November 8, 2015 at his residence. He was born September 27, 1944 at Searcy. He was a member of Arnold Tabernacle CME Church in Kensett and retired from Walmart Distribution #6003 after 25 years.
He was preceded in death by his father, Milo Brewer; and two brothers, Bobby Brewer and Robert Decker.
He married Virginia Hendrix Brewer September 27, 1985 at Searcy; she survives. He is also survived by his mother, Carrie Newton Brewer; three sons, James Brewer II (Ronda) of Russellville, and Foster Baker (April) of Searcy, and Stevie Coleman of Kensett; three daughters, Paula Baker (Richard) of Searcy, Aretha Winbush of Detroit, Michigan, and Gwendolyn Hart (Andre) of Kensett; two sisters, Sharen Jackson (Derrick) of Highland Village, Texas, and Karen Edwards (Jay) of Alpharetta, Georgia; father-in-law, John Hendrix (Evelyn); five sisters-in-law, Beatrice Decker, Lumie Harris (Roy), Johnetta Hart, Karen Hendrix, and Reba Hendrix; two brothers-in-law, Dennis Hendrix (Gloria), and Daryl Hendrix (Karen); twenty one grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Visiting hours are 5-7 p.m. Friday, November 13 at Sullivan Funeral Care in Kensett. Funeral Services are 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Riverview Elementary Gymnasium in Kensett with burial following at Crow Cemetery.
