Ozzie Banks, Sr, 74, of Kensett, Arkansas, passed away on Saturday, February 20, 2010. He was born October 2, 1935 in Kensett, the son of Henry and Edith Banks.
Mr. Banks is survived by his wife, Loretta Banks, of the home; three sons, Ozzie Banks, Jr. (Terry), John Banks, and Mark Banks; five daughters, Edith Chatman (Elmer), Cherie Pettis (Marshall), Diana Banks, Addie Banks, and Tina Smith (Darryl); a brother, Charles Banks, Sr. (Janice); a god-daughter, Jessica Baker; 21 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and a host of nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, John Wesley Banks; two sisters, Ruby Mae McCulley and Virginia Goodlow; a nephew, Freddie Lee Barkley and two nieces, Kathy Goodlow and Emma White.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 11:00am at Centennial Missionary Baptist Church of Kensett. Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 8 pm at the Powell Funeral Home of Searcy. Interment will follow in Crow cemetery. www.powellfuneralhome.net
