Karen Marie Spurbeck, 68, of Searcy, died June 4, 2011. She was born May 4, 1943 in Illinois.

Mrs. Spurbeck was a member of Mt. Zion Christian Fellowship Church. She was a school teacher, having taught kindergarten and first grade at Center Hill School for 31 years.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Spurbeck; four sons, Kenneth Spurbeck of Illinois, Jerry Spurbeck of Georgia, Ronald Spurbeck of Wisconsin, and Michael Spurbeck of Tennessee; three daughters, Sandra Spurbeck of Texas, Rhonda Campbell of Michigan, and Michelle Bradford of Searcy; two brothers, John Friend and Robert Friend of California; one sister, Bonnie Friend of Washington; twenty-six grandchildren and thirty-two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Monday, June 6, 2011 from 6-8 p.m. at Searcy-McEuen Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, at Mt. Zion Christian Fellowship Church, with burial following in Center Hill Presbyterian Cemetery.
