Mrs. Ola Mae Funderburk Gray, 81, of Smackover died Tuesday in a local hospital following a long illness. She was a widow of Tom C. Gray. Born in Georgianne, Ala., Sept. 4, 1883, the daughter of William I. and Emily Gray Funderburk, Mrs. Gray had lived in Smackover for the last 61 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Smackover and of the Dorcas Sunday School Class of that church. She is survived by two sons, Loyd Gray and Roy Gray, both of Smackover; three daughters, Mrs. Charles McKenzie and Mrs. O. L. Langley, both of Smackover, and Mrs. Emily Caruthers of El Dorado; a sister, Mrs. Ed Hoover of Pueblo, Colo.; 16 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Funeral services have been announced for Thursday at 2 p.m. in the First Baptist Church of Smackover with the Rev. D. C. McAtee and the Rev. Harold K. Davis officiating. Burial will be in Smackover Cemetery under the direction of Young's. Active pallbearers will be W. D. Hammer, Jr., Homer Parks, Paul Brock, Gilbert Stedman, W. E. Payton, R. L. Clawson, Kirby Halligan and Delmar Olive. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the McHaney Bible Class and of the Methodist Men's Bible Class. The body was taken to the Loyd Gray residence Wednesday at 4 p.m. (The El Dorado Times - December 5, 1964)
