Tom C. Gray, age 75, of Smackover, died Monday in an El Dorado hospital. Mr. Gray who was born and reared in Smackover, was City Marshall of Smackover a number of years. He was the only law official of Smackover at the time of the oil boom,and had been since a very early age. He was a member of the Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, three daughters; Mrs. C. E. McKenzie, Mrs. Emily Carruthers and Mrs. Odell Langley; two sons, Lloyd and Roy Gray all of Smackover, 16 grandchildren and five great grandchildren; Three sisters, Mrs. J. P. Leveritte of Smackover, Mrs. Sally Cramer of Sheridan and Mrs. Oscar Magouyrk Sr. of Stephens. Funeral services were held on Tuesday at the Smackover Baptist Church by Bro. Dale Taylor assisted by the Methodist Minister. Burial was in the Smackover cemetery by Hall Funeral Home of El Dorado. Those attending the funeral from Stephens were Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Magouyrk Sr, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Magouryk, Jr, Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Miller, Roy and Suzanne; Mrs. Ella Mae Boyer, Linda and Jimmy.
