Ulysses S. Harris, Jr., age 75 of Conway, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2016.
Born December 12, 1940 in DeQueen, Arkansas, he was the son of Ulysses S. Harris, Sr. and Nellie Mae Harris.
Mr. Harris was a veteran of the United States Navy.
He was a graduate of Arkansas Baptist College and Harding University with a Masters Degree. He worked for the North Little Rock School District for several years and then with MacMillan Bloedel Corporation as Director of Personnel and Safety until his retirement.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria Harris of Conway, nine sons; Gerald Harris and Eric Harris of Atlanta, Georgia, Ulysses Andre Harris of North Little Rock, AR, David Harris, Paul Harris, Thomas Harris and William Harris all of Conway, Michael Harris of Texas and Derick Harris of Florida, four daughters; Leslie Harris-Clay of California, Vergie Harris and Sarah Harris both of Little Rock, Arkansas and Paula Harris of Conway, three brothers; Dennis Harris of Sherwood, Arkansas, Alfred Harris of Palestine, Texas and Phillip Harris of Jacksonville, Arkansas, three sisters; Barbara Mayfield of Greensboro, North Carolina, Marian O'Neal of Little Rock, Arkansas and Jacquelyn Radford of Yardley, Pennsylvania, 18 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral service for Mr. Harris will be Saturday, July 23, 2016, 11:00 A.M. at Zion Temple Church of God In Christ in Conway, Arkansas by Bishop Frank Anderson, Jr. Interment will be in Robinson Cemetery in Conway.
Public viewing will be Friday, July 22, 2016 from 2:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. at Wilson & Jarrett Funeral Home, 106 E. Elm Street, Morrilton, Arkansas.
Family visitation will be Friday, July 22, 2016 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Zion Temple, 1272 Sutton Street, Conway, Arkansas.
