May 22, 1870 - March 5, 1961
J. D. Haralson, aged 90, of Smackover, formerly of Ogemaw, died in a Smackover hospital at 8:05 p.m. Sunday. Mr. Haralson operated a grocery store at Ogemaw for a number of years. He had been living in Smackover for about 27 years. He is survived by two sons, Virgil K. Haralson and William D. Haralson, both of Smackover; two daughters, Mrs. Vernon Lisenby, of Pine Bluff, and Mrs. Mae Naylor, of Smackover, seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday 2:00 p.m. at the First Methodist Church in Smackover, with Rev. Harold Sadler officiating. Burial will be in the Smackover cemetery. Casketbearers will be E. C. Wisenhunt, H. E. Graves, Doyle Jones, George Peart, Paul Brook, and Kirby Hilligan. Honorary bearers will be Dr. A. H. Doren and members of the Men's Bible Class of the First Methodist Church. The body will be taken to the home of his son Virgil Haralson in Smackover, where it will remain until funeral time. (Camden News - March 6, 1961)
