Doris Taylor Betts, 80, of Searcy died Saturday, July 30, 2011. She was born at Searcy July 4, 1931, the daughter of William and Alta Hufham Baker.
She was a member of the Center Hill Missionary Baptist Church and retired from ITT Higbe and was a homemaker.
Mrs. Betts is survived by her husband of 29 years, J.R. Betts; sons, Jim Taylor and his wife Carolyn of Searcy, David Taylor and his wife Mary of North Little Rock, Ronnie Taylor and his wife Dianne of Sherwood; Step-Daughters, Shirley Baugh and her husband Vaughan and Peggy Smith and her husband Gary of Searcy; a brother, Julius Eugene Baker of Malvern, NY; seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, four step grandchildren and eight step great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester "Lec" Taylor, sister Mattie Ruth Baker, a grandson Chad Taylor and an infant granddaughter.
