Mrs. Mallie Steinhoff died Tuesday at the home of her daughter Mrs. Fred Massey 925 Lyons Lane after an illness of many years. She was born in Brenham, Texas, January 16, 1877. Her grandfather founded the first permanent German settlement in Texas; at Industry in Austin County in 1831. She moved to Oakdale, Louisiana, about 1917. During her active years, while living in Oakdale; she taught a Sunday School Class, was President of the Women's Missionary Society and a member of the First Baptist Church. She has lived in Camden 20 years. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Williams of Oakdale, La. and Mrs. Gladys Massey of Camden and a number of nieces and nephews in Texas. The service will be held at Proctors Funeral Chapel at 2 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Memorial Park Camden. (Camden News - September 27, 1966)
