Gwenda Sue Moody Sample, 66
Gwenda Sue Moody Sample, daughter of Billie Moody and the late Hale Moody, was born February 21, 1950 in Little Rock, Arkansas. She departed this life November 19, 2016 at Calico Rock, Arkansas at the age of 66 years, 8 months and 28 days. She was united in marriage to Gary Sample February 9, 1974 and to this union one son: Jeremy Lee Sample, was born.
Gwenda spent her early life in Goddard Kansas where she and her family lived for over 20 years. After she married and began her family they moved to Tulsa where she managed several Circle K convenience stores. She and her family were avid Harley Motorcycle Riders. Her husband passed away in 1985 and Jeremy and his mom moved to Dolph, Arkansas. She pursued a new profession as a Licensed Practical Nurse and worked at the White River Healthcare and then went to Calico Rock Public School where she worked there for 28 years as the school nurse. She was loved by her students and co-workers. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Goddard, Kansas.
She is survived by one son: Jeremy Sample of Calico Rock; three grandsons: Gary Sample, Bobby Sample and Waylon Sample all of Dolph; her mother: Billie Moody of Dolph; one brother: Jimmie Moody of Wichita, Kansas; one sister: Paula Murphree and husband Ronnie of Dolph; niece: Joni and husband Jason Devors and great nephew Zachary Devors of Mountain Home; niece: Candice Hopkins and her children, Charger and Chevelle Hopkins of Dolph; niece: Betsy Roach and husband Austin and their daughters, Aspen and Berkeley Roach of Wichita, Kansas; niece: Elisha Beale-Roberts and family; niece: Caroline Moody and family; nephew: Jake Moody and family of Wichita, Kansas and a host of other relatives and many life time friends. She was preceded in death by her father.
Funeral service will be Tuesday, November 22, 2016 with visitation noon till 2 p.m. Funeral service will began at 2:00 p.m. at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Calico Rock. Burial will be at Hand Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Gary Sample, Bobby Sample, Waylon Sample, Zachary Devors, Jed Cowgill, Austin Roach and Marshall Branscum.
Honorary Pallbearers: Billy Hargett, Johnny Owens, Bradley Skidmore and Devin Hicks.
