TRAMMELL, Margie LEFORS - Mrs. Margie Trammell, 78 years, 9 months and 13 days old, passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Will Whiteside, in Gentry early Tuesday morning after a lingering illness of many months duration. Funeral services, attended by a large concourse of relatives and friends, were held at the Baptist church yesterday afternoon conducted by Rev. Jos. W. English, the pastor. Interment was in the Gentry cemetery under the direction of Carpenter Bros. Margie Lefors, daughter of Henry and Sallie Lefors, was born in Texas to which state the parents had gone from Arkansas for a visit, July 30, 1851, the family returning to this section of Arkansas soon thereafter. She was married to L.K. Trammell in 1869. To this union were born seven children, the husband and three children, Whitfield, Lonnie and Henry, preceding her in death, the latter by but two weeks, having passed away at his home in Mount Vernon, Wash. April 29. She leaves four children to mourn her departure - Jay Trammell, Billingsham, Wash.; Jonah Trammell, Granby, Mo.; Mrs. Ira Fox, Otis Orchard, Wash. and Mrs. Nora Whiteside of Gentry - aside from one brother, two sisters and ten grandchildren. Mrs. Trammell was one of this section's most highly respected and best known residents, having spent practically her entire life here with the exception of three years, which she spent in Mount Vernon, Wash. Professing faith in Christ at an early age she followed the teachings of the Lowly One in her stay on this earth as she interpreted His words given while on this mortal sphere and was always found working in the interest of the church and for the welfare of her family and wide circle of friends and acquaintances. The large concourse of sorrowing ones in attendance at the funeral rites but gave evidence of the high esteem in which the departed one was held in this section of Benton county, her life-long home.
