John L. Smith, 84, passed away November 27, 2016. John was born to Lemuel & Allie Mae Smith on April 30, 1932 in Tulip, AR.  John was a busy man, not one to sit still. He loved to hunt deer and turkey. He was a founding member of the Tulip Hunting Club and also a member of the Sunshine Hunting Club. He was a member of Tulip Presbyterian Church. John was a sociable person who loved to drive the roads and visit with everyone.
John is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Martin, Howard, Buck, Tommy and Carroll Smith, and a sister, Rose Marie McDaniel.
John is survived by his sisters, Mary Lou Talbert Dunn and her husband, Joel Dunn of Hot Springs Village, AR; Geraldine Dykes of Tulip; his lifelong special friend, Lennie, his great niece, Rosabeth that he adored, also numerous nieces and nephews that loved him dearly and cared for him until God took him home.
Visitation will be Wednesday, November 30, 2016 from 6-8 PM in the Atkinson Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, December 1, 2016 in the Atkinson Chapel with Rev. Tammy Harrell officiating. Interment will be at Tulip Cemetery. Pallbearers will be members of his family. The honorary pallbearer will be Phillip Smith for all his loving care.
