Arvis Ray McCrackin, age 87, of Tulip, Arkansas died Saturday, January 28, 2017 in Malvern. He was born February 7, 1929, in Russell, Arkansas the son of the late Samuel Melvin and Arizona Lee Fortune McCrackin. He was a Leola High School graduate, U.S. Army Veteran, having served in the Korean Conflict, was retired from the Rock Island Railroad and was a cattle farmer. He was a member of the Brush Creek Missionary Baptist Church and was attending the Carthage Presbyterian Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Alan R. McCrackin; one brother and three sisters.
Survivors are his wife, Nona Sudbury McCrackin; Rosabeth Smith of Tulip, who was like a granddaughter and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation was Monday, January 30 from 5PM until 7PM at Regency Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be at 2:30 PM Tuesday, January 31 in the Regency Chapel with Brother William Wallace officiating. Burial will follow in the Tulip Cemetery. Pallbearers are Bruce and Brian McCrackin, Wallace Ford, Mike Kizziar, Mac Johnson and Bill Dial. Honorary pallbearers are the Lono Country Corner Breakfast Club.
Memorials may be made to Tulip Community Center or the Tulip Cemetery Association.
