BELLA VISTA — Glenda S. Deaton, 74, of Bella Vista, Arkansas died Sunday, September 13, 2015 at Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville, Arkansas. She was born April 22, 1941 in, Altoga, Texas to Orville and Ethelyn (Watkins) Stroup. She graduated from East Texas State University and was a public school teacher in Paris, Texas for over 29 years. Glenda moved to Bella Vista in 2001. She volunteered at the Village Baptist church and at the Bella Vista Library. She was also an avid gardener.

Preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Janet Edgar. She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Richard Deaton; a son Rod Deaton and his wife Laura of Austin, Texas and three grandchildren.

Visitation will be at 10 a.m. with funeral services to follow at 11 a.m., September 16, 2015 at Village Baptist Church, 380 Glasgow Road, Bella Vista, Arkansas. Pastor Pat Taylor will officiate. Burial will be at the Bella Vista Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Burl Holmes, Lanny Farish, Gene Henderson, Jimmy Jones, Dave Mack and John Urbia. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Village Baptist Church. Arrangements are entrusted to Bella Vista Funeral Home & Crematory, 2258 Forest Hills Blvd., Bella Vista, Arkansas.
