October 4, 1868 - November 25, 1967
Miss Ida Winston, aged 99 well known local resident, died Saturday evening in the Ouachita Hospital. She was a retired postal employee. "Miss Ida" was born October 4, 1868 in Butler, Alabama and came to Camden in 1900 where she was employed at American Express Company. She later went to work at the old post office and retired in 1933. Her home for many years, 1919-1961 was located at 341 West Washington St. the present home of the federal building. She was the oldest member of the St. John's Episcopal Church where funeral services will be held Tuesday at 3 p.m. Miss Ida is survived by several cousins: Walter Dubose of Camden, Mrs. Louise Boney of Auburn, Ala.,; Mrs. Carrie McCall of Mobile, Ala.; Mrs. Jeanette McMichael of Pensacola, Florida and Robert Dubose of New York City. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery with Proctor Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The family will be at the home of Walter Dubose, 134 Clifton St. (Camden News - November 27, 1967)
