TWO VICTIMS TAKEN WITHIN AN HOUR IN ONE FAMILY BY FLU
George W. McCaslin, Chester Farmer and Daughter, Mrs. Williams Succumb Wednesday
George W. McCaslin, prominent farmer of Chester, and his daughter Mrs. F. M. Williams, 42 of Fort Smith, died at the McCaslin home in Chester, early Wednesday morning, following illness from influenza. Mr. McCaslin, who was 77 years of age, Wednesday, died about 1 o'clock and his daughter died an hour later. He had been ill about two weeks and Mrs. Williams, who had gone to Chester to be with her father during his illness, was taken ill about a week ago.
Mr. McCaslin, who was well known in Crawford County, is survived by three daughters by his first wife and a small daughter by his third wife, who also is living. The daughters are Mrs. Gus Collier of Van Buren, Mrs. J. W. Kimes of Haroldton, Mrs. May Lingo of Sallisaw, Okla., and Nadine McCaslin of Chester.
Mrs. Williams is survived by her husband, step-mother, three sisters and small half-sister.
A double funeral services was held from the family home at Chester Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock with Rev. H. Steward of the Chester Methodist Church officiating. Interment was made in the Chester cemetery.
