*Obituary
Miss Clara Umstead died early Monday morning in the County Hospital after a lingering illness. She was a well known teacher, having taught in schools all over the county for a number of years. She is survived by a sister, Mrs. M. E. Guffey of Chidester, three nieces, Mrs. G L. Johnson of Camden, Mrs. L. J. Brown of Wickes, and Miss Virginia Guffey of Little Rock; and a nephew Jimmy Brown of Wickes, Ark. Funeral services were held at the Rushing Memorial church in Chidester at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday by Rev. R. L. Diffee. Burial was in Greenwood cemetery in Camden with Proctor Funeral Home in charge. Active pallbearers were Carl Dickinson, Wayne Sanders, Tom Benton, Hugh Purifoy, Tom Walker, and Carl Purifoy.
