January 21, 1919 - September 8, 1977
Thomas M. Thornton, 58, of 211 California Ave. was found dead at his home Wednesday. A spokesman for the coroners office said he had been dead several days. Funeral services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Proctor Chapel, followed by burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Thornton was a sales order clerk for Celotex Corp. and a veteran of WWII. He is survived by one son, Wayne Mack Thornton of Las Cruces, New Mexico, and two grandchildren. (Camden News - September 29, 1977)
