1909 - March 3, 1969
Mrs. Marian Pope Talton, 59, of Garland, Texas, former Camden resident died Monday morning in Memorial Hospital, at Dallas, Texas. Mrs. Talton was born in Camden, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Andrew S. Pope. She graduated from Camden High School and attended Lindenwood College, St. Charles, Missouri. During the years of World War II she served with the United States Air Force in several foreign countries, and prior to returning to the United States, was security secretary to Col. Bryant at Casablanca, French Morocco, USAF. At the time of her death she was a librarian at Nicholson Library at Garland. Mrs. Talton is survived by one son, Andy Pope Talton, professor at State College, Emporia, Kansas, and one sister, Mrs. L. L. Duff of Okinawa. Funeral arrangements will be in charge of Proctor Funeral Home. (Camden News - March 4, 1969)
