August 16, 1880 - September 10,1948
Elmer C. Spain, aged 68, died at the Camden Hospital at 5 o'clock this morning. He was born August 16, 1880 at Magnolia and moved to Camden in 1919. He has been a barber in Camden the past 29 years. He is survived by his wife, two sons, Calvin and Niolan of Camden, five brothers, Hamp, Harvey, Emery and Claud of Magnolia, and Clifton of El Dorado; two half sisters, Mrs. Ruby Mills and Miss Jewell Spain of Abilene, Tex., four grand daughters. Funeral services will be at 2:20 Saturday at the First Methodist Church by Rev. W. Neil Hart, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers are Frank Landers, Harry Robertson, J. T. Williford, Hop Milner, Carlton Webb and B. A. Nipper. Proctor's in charge. Mr. Spain has a host of friends throughout South Arkansas who will regret to learn of his death.
