Wife of Dr. James H Shelton
1885 - December 1, 1971
Mrs. Eva Criner Shelton, widow of Dr. J. H. Shelton, formerly of Hampton, died Wednesday afternoon in a Camden hospital. Mrs. Shelton was born at Buena Vista, daughter of the late Joseph W. Criner and Mary Ann Wright Criner. Dr. and Mrs. Shelton moved to Hampton in 1917, where he practiced medicine until his death in 1946. Mrs. Shelton has made her home in Camden since that time. She served as Worthy Matron of Eastern Star, and was a member of the Maul Road Church of Christ. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Len Bencini of Columbus, Kentucky; one sister, Mrs. Ada Harwell of Texarkana, Texas; two nieces, Mrs. Guy Dunn of Camden and Mrs. Evelyn Blankenship of Texarkana; two nephews, Bill Walker of Magnolia and Chester Harwell of Texarkana, and four grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday at Proctor's Chapel, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. (Camden News - December 2, 1971)
