October 15, 1876 - November 7, 1956

W. J. Risinger, aged 80, retired Camden business man and a former mayor of Camden died in a Camden hospital at 1:45 p.m. Wednesday. Mr. Risinger was born October 15, 1876 in Lockhart, Louisiana. He was married July 1, 1900 to Zilpha Wary. Mrs. Risinger died February, 1953. Mr. Risinger moved to Camden from Nashville in 1927. He was a past president of the Camden Chamber of Commerce, 32nd degree Mason, and honorary member of the Camden lodge, and was a member of the First Christian Church. He retired from business 14 years ago. He was a past owner of the Camden Ice Co. and had timber interests in this area. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Tressie Wolfe, a granddaughter, Mrs. Wallace Goza, and by five grandchildren, all of Camden; a sister, Mrs. Lee Humphries of Nashville. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the First Christian Church by Rev. Charles Grow, pastor. Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery by Proctor Funeral Home. Active bearers are, W. T. Reynolds, Jimmy Shaddock, Garland Hurt, Reed Gammill, Clark Buchner, Joseph Coan, Lamar Smead, Wm. F. Gilleland, A. D. Mason, Chuck Davis, Mike Berg, and Emmett Gaughan. Honorary bearers are officers of the First Christian Church. The body was taken to the family home Thursday morning to remain until 9:30 a.m. Friday when it will be taken to the church.
