December 18, 1892 - May 22, 1973
Dr. John Brook Poindexter, 80, of 219 California Ave. formerly of Smackover, died Tuesday morning in a local hospital. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Proctor Funeral Home. Dr. Poindexter was a retired dentist who practiced for 40 years in Smackover. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Smackover and was active in the Mt. Morriah Masonic Temple of El Dorado. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Elizabeth Jackson Poindexter of Camden; one daughter, Miss Jean Poindexter of New York City; three brothers, Fred D. Poindexter of Pueblo, Colo.; Dr. R. D. Poindexter of Bristol, Tenn.; Grady J. Poindexter of Memphis, Tenn.; two sisters, Mrs. Fannie B. Foster of Austwell, Tex.; Mrs. Ruby Lester of Canton, Ga. (Camden News - May 23, 1973)
