October 19, 1893 - August 23, 1971
Hamilton Thomas Patton, 77, retired senior executive president of the Merchants and Planters Bank, died Monday in a local hospital after an illness of severla months. Mr. Patton attended Arkansas College at Batesville and taught school for several years before entering the banking business in 1917. He was a past president of the Camden Chamber of Commerce and the Lions Club. Mr. Patton was a member of the state Game and Fish Commission for seven years, and was an elder in the First Presbyterian Church. He is survived by his wife; Mrs. Sarah Berry Patton; three grandchildren and one great grandchild. Funeral services will be held today at 4 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church with burial in Greenwood Cemetery by Proctor Funeral Home. (Camden News - August 24, 1971)
