*Obituary
Judson PATTERSON, 59, justice of the peace of Ecore Fabre township, former
county treasurer and city clerk of Camden, died suddenly at his home today
following a heart attack. Justice Patterson had been in perfect health just
prior to the attack and was at his office yesterday. He was well-known here and
throughout Ouachita County, having served as treasurer from 1912 to 1916. He
was city clerk of Camden for many years and later served as justice of the
peace. Mr. Patterson was active in Masonic circles and was a past worshipful
master of the Camden Lodge. He was also past worthy grand patron of the Order
of the Eastern Star of Arkansas and had held several offices in the local
chapter. Mr. Patterson was born at Chidester on October 2, 1879, and was a
member of a well-known Ouachita County family. On June 19, 1900 he married Miss
Mary Stinnett. He moved to Camden a good number of years ago. Funeral services
will be conducted at the First Methodist Church at 3:30 p.m. Saturday with the
Rev. J.L. Hoover officiating. The Masonic Lodge will be in charge. Proctor
Funeral Home is handling arrangements. He is survived by his wife, a daughter
Mrs. Esdelle Finch, three sons Jim Word, W.H. and Judson Patterson, Jr and one
sister Mrs. Jay Benton of Sayre, Arkansas.
