Eugenia “Jean” (Goss) Russell, 80, of Sherwood passed away Wednesday, August 19, 2009. She was born December 22, 1928 in Cabot, Arkansas to Frank and Hettie (Snow) Goss. She was a charter member of Levy Church of Christ.
She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Jack B. Russell, of Sherwood; daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Gene Speights, of North Little Rock; son and daughter-in-law, Danny B. and Nedra Russell, of Benton; sister and brother-in-law, Frankie and Bill Jones, of Sherwood; four grandchildren, Kerri Koteras, Darin Dodson, Marla Holloway and Ryan Russell; and five great-grandchildren, Jacob, Joseph, Aidan, Ellie and Corey. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Charles Ray Goss.
She never met a stranger, was a loving mother, sister and grandmother. She was a big fan of good music, basketball and an avid card player.
The family wishes to express their thanks to Baptist Springhill Medical Center and staff for their excellent care of their mother.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M., Friday at North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Vilonia Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., Thursday at the funeral home, 1921 Main St. 758-1170.


Jack B. Russell, 89 of Sherwood, our precious, loving Daddy and Popaw died on Friday, June 3, 2011. He was born in Vilonia, Arkansas on November 1, 1921 to the late William T. and Celie Russell. He worked 38 years for the Missouri Pacific and Rock Island Railroads.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Jean Goss Russell. Also preceding him in death were his brothers, Belton, Harmon and Chester. He is survived by his son, Danny B. Russell and wife Nedra of Benton; his daughter Sandy Russell Speights and husband Gene of England; four grandchildren, Kerri Koteras, Darin Dodson, Marla Holloway and Ryan Russell; five great-grandchildren, Jacob and Joseph Holloway, Aidan Jack and Ellie Kate Russell, and Corey Koteras. Also surviving is his brother, Oce Russell of Sherwood, and like a sister and brother to him, Frankie and Bill Jones. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews with whom he has shared laughter and good times.

He was a "Jack" of all trades and loved fixing anything for anybody. He enjoyed basketball, gospel and country music, gardening and playing card games, but most of all spending time with his family. He was a faithful charter member of the Levy Church of Christ. His beautiful bass voice will always be remembered. He was loved by all and will be missed by many.

Pallbearers will be Ryan Russell, Gene Speights, Gail Russell, Larry Russell, Danny Koteras and Corey Koteras. Honorary pallbearers will be Darin Dodson, Bill Jones, Marla Holloway and Kerri Koteras.

The family would like to thank nurse Mary Brown with Hospice Home Care for helping us through this most difficult time.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday at North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at Vilonia Cemetery.
