Mrs. Grace Honea Beard, 95, of Conway died Sunday (Aug. 6, 2000) at Heritage Living Center.

Born May 16, 1905, a daughter of the late Oscar L. and Mary Gibbon Honea, she was a member of First Baptist Church. She was employed by the Home Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention, and served with her late husband, the Rev. Roe R. Beard, with the Ponca, Pawnee and Cherokee Indians of Oklahoma.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers, J.B. Honea and A.L. Honea; and five sisters, Mamye Sweeney, Gertrude Beard, Myrtle Redick, Tressie Wright and Margaret Honea.

She is survived by a brother, O.L. "Pete" Honea of Edmonds, Wash.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Griffin Leggett-Conway with the Revs. Orland Beard and Richard Pickup officiating. Burial will be in Beryl Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Bill Beard, Gary Brazear, Brooks Brazear, Eddie Bowren, Matthew Beard and Luke Beard.
