Roy A. W. Johnson, 88, of Ozark, Arkansas, died Saturday, December 10, 2016 in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
He was born November 16, 1928 in the Lone Elm Community of Franklin County.

He was a retired Oil Field Worker of 46 years for Miller Drilling and Grace Drilling. Roy was a member of First Christian Church of Ozark and attended Jethro Pentecostal Church; was a member of Franklin County Fair Board, the Antique Tractor Club, and volunteer with Ozark Kiwanis Club.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Alfred and Gatha Edwards Johnson; four sisters, Mary Wisdom, Ruby Patterson, Betty Wells, and Ada Marie Johnson; and two brothers, Wadie and Truman Johnson.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Alice Montgomery Johnson of Ozark; a daughter, Janette Mooney of Ozark; Grandson Garrett Mooney of Ozark, great grandson Gage Mooney of Fort Smith; Mitchell Montgomery of Ozark; a sister Opal Montgomery of Ozark; a brother Robert Johnson and wife Willa of Charleston; two sisters-in-law, Mary Jane Johnson and Gelene Johnson, both of Ozark.

Graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, December 12, 2016 at Highland Cemetery in Ozark with Brother Jim Mattson and Brother Wendell Keller officiating under direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark.
