WILLEY, H.J. - H.J. Willey, a well known farmer of this section, died at his home north of Bentonville Thursday, February 21, 1929 at the age of 79 years. He was ill but nine days and death was caused by heart failure following an attack of influenza. Funeral services were held at the Christian Church Saturday, conducted in the absence of the pastor by the Rev. J.E. Barrow, pastor of the Hiwasse Christian Church. Interment was made in the Gravette cemetery. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Lizzie Willey and one sister, Mrs. M.B. Russell of Walnut, Ill. Mr. Willey was born in Tuscarawas county, Ohio Nov. 14, 1849. When a small boy he moved with his parents to Illinois where he grew to manhood. He was married to Miss Lucy Wallace who died in 1909. He came to Bentonville in 1910 and bought a farm north of town. In 1911 he married Miss Lizzie Nichols of Hiwasse. Mr. Willey had lived in this neighborhood for 38 years and was highly esteemed by all who knew him.
