Jimmie Lee Rowden Whiteaker of Calico Rock, Arkansas.
Jimmie Lee Rowden Whiteaker, daughter of the late Gordon Rowden and Iris Burns Rowden, was born October 20, 1928 in Oxford, Arkansas. She departed this life December 23, 2016 in Calico Rock, Arkansas at the age of 88 years, 2 months and 3 days. She was united in marriage to Lecel Anderson Whiteaker and to this union six children were born. She spent her life as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, homemaker and friend. During her working years, she was employed by Calico Rock Medical Center in admissions. She retired after 20 years of employment. She also owned and operated the Calico Rock Florist. She was of the Presbyterian faith and a member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her six children and their spouses: Janis and Charles Wilson, Rex and Cinda Whiteaker, Jeff and Connie Whiteaker all of Calico Rock; Brenda and Ray Choate of Everton, Arkansas, Pam Leach of Quitman, Arkansas and Donna Beene of Conway; 12 grandchildren: Susan Sexton, Derek Wilson, Lance Whiteaker, Jessie Whiteaker, Jason Estes, Tracy Dover, Jessica Leach, Zach Leach, Shannon Whiteaker, Tyler Whiteaker, Laiken Small and Cheyenne Beene; 17 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and many good friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband: Lecel Whiteaker in 1999 and one sister: Helen Rhea.
Funeral service will be Monday, December 26, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Calico Rock Funeral Chapel with Wayne Wood officiating. Burial will be at Pineville Cemetery under the direction of Eddie’s Family Funeral Home in Calico Rock. Visitation will be Monday, December 26 beginning at 12 noon at Eddie’s Family Funeral Home in Calico Rock.
