She was a member of the Independence County United Way Board of Directors, serving as President in 1987 and Campaign chair several times. She was a member of the Executive Council of the Crowley's Ridge Girl Scout Council as well as serving as a Girl Scout leader for 5 years and Cub Scout leader for two. She served as secretary of the Batesville Booster Club and coached girls softball for four years. Peggy proudly served as President of the Arkansas State Dental Auxiliary in 1974 and as an executive board member and secretary for 6 years. In recent years, Peggy gave her talents and energy as a founding member of the Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship Fund Board of Directors serving as the Vice President from 1990-91 and President from 1992 to 1994. She also served on the Independence County Single Parent Scholarship Board from 1990 to 2005. All relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Peggy's life at a memorial service on Saturday, June 4, at 2:00 PM at Independence Hall at UACCB. Visitation with family will immediately follow the memorial service at UACCB.
An open visitation will be held from 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM, Wednesday, June 1, 2005 at the Roller-Crouch Funeral Home.
Throughout her illness Peggy received many beautiful flowers and enjoyed them all. In lieu of more flowers, it is the family's wish that donations to the Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship Fund be given in her memory. She was immensely proud of the difference these scholarship opportunities made in the lives of many single parents in the past 15 years.
