Obituary
James Harold Gaither, 77, of Batesville died Friday, July 15, 2016, at White River Medical Center in Batesville.
Born November 19, 1938, in Sidney, Arkansas, he was the son of Homer Wesley Gaither and Ruby Belle (Dover) Gaither.
He was a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church and served as the church treasurer for twenty years.
He worked as a poultry field serviceman at J.K. Southerland and Lanier and retired at Townsends. He was a 32nd Degree Mason of Mount Zion #10 Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed playing golf and camping. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Survivors include his wife, Jane (Walker) Gaither of Batesville; two sons, Shayne Gaither and Kyle Gaither and his wife, Christi, all of Batesville; three grandchildren, Jacob Gaither of Brevard, North Carolina; Rebecca Gaither and Adam Gaither, both of Batesville; and a sisters-in-law, Betty Gaither of Batesville and Lena Hall and her husband, Stanley, of Heart, Arkansas.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Marvin Gaither and Gerald Gaither.
There will be a funeral service at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, July 17, 2016, at the Pleasant Valley Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Carrol Kinley. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery in Batesville under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Curtis Neeley, Frank McGaha, Billy Ed Campbell, Otto Graham, Phil Goodwin and Vernon Scott.
Honorary pallbearers are Howard West, Gerald Lesley, Carl Walls, and the Men of Pleasant Valley Missionary Baptist Church.
Visitation is from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Saturday, July 16, 2016, at Roller-Crouch Funeral Home.
