Obituary
Stephen Wayne Bastian, 64, of Batesville died Saturday, March 10, 2012 at his residence.
He was born December 26, 1947 in Peoria, Illinois and was the son of George Bastian and Evelyn (Crandall) Bastian.
He was a US Army Veteran of the Vietnam War and received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.
Stephen was general manager at Wade's Heating and Air for 15 years. His passion in life was his family and work. He especially loved spending time with his only granddaughter, Annabelle Bastian Bruce.
He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church at Southside and ran the church's sound system.
Survivors include his wife, Linda (Petree) Bastian of Batesville; mother, Evelyn Bastian of Peoria, IL; daughter, Deena Bastian Bruce and husband, Tim of Newark; granddaughter, Annabelle Bastian Bruce of Newark; brothers, George Bastian and wife, Barb of Peoria, IL, Charles Bastian and wife, Anita of Cuba, IL, Don Bastian and wife, Jan, of Chicago, IL, Ron Bastian of East Peoria, IL; sisters, Susie Jones and husband, Sonny, of Peoria, IL, Barb Stear and husband, Tim of Peoria, IL, and Karen Meyers and husband, Randy of Chillicothe, IL; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father and brother, Gerry Bastian.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Southside with Bro. Bobby Daily officiating.
Burial will be at Oaklawn Cemetery in Batesville by Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville.
Pallbearers are Tim Bruce, along with the employees of Wade's Heating, Air, and Electrical.
Visitation is from 5:00-8:00 p.m., Monday, March 12, 2012 at the funeral home.
