Jerry Allen Barnett, 70, of Batesville passed away Thursday, January 30, 2014 in Batesville. He was born July 29, 1943 in Sandtown to William Everett Barnett and Effie Haigwood Barnett. Jerry worked in the maintenance at Arkansas Eastman Chemical Co. and was of the Baptist Faith. Jerry loved sports, hunting, fishing and being with friends. He was a very loved person.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Beverly Jane Barnett of the home; one son, Anthony Barnett and his wife Pam of Cave City; one daughter, Janie Barnett Stevens and her husband Carl of Batesville; three brothers, Coy Barnett of Sandown, Gene Barnett of Batesville, and Charles Barnett of Mt. Pleasant; one sister, Stella Ballard of Sikeston, MO; two grandchildren, Kegan Barnett and Austin Barnett; one great grandchild, Madison Barnett; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Carl Barnett and Roy Barnett and one sister, Theda Cornish.
Services will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at the Willis Funeral Service Chapel. Interment will be at the Oaklawn Cemetery in Batesville. Pallbearers are Kegan Barnett, Austin Hunter, Cliff Barnett, Tommy Barnett, Kenny Queary, and Robert Wisdom.
Visitation is 6 – 8 P.M. Monday, February 02, 2014.
