Obituary
Donald T. Stroud, 74, of Batesville, died Friday at his home.
He was born in Mount Pleasant on Thursday, June 30, 1938 and was the son of Ellis and Jeffie (Holland) Stroud.
He graduated from Mount Pleasant High School in 1956, then moved to Kansas where he worked at Boeing Aircraft Beach Aircraft in Wichita. Then moving back to Batesville, he worked at White Rodgers and retired after 33 years of service. After retirement, he was a door greeter at Wal-Mart for 9 years. He liked frog gigging, talking about airplanes and enjoyed NASCAR. He also enjoyed taking naps in his recliner. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Ruth (Killian) Stroud of the home and one son, Mike Stroud of Long Island, NY.
His parents preceded him in death.
Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Oaklawn Cemetery with Randy Scott officiating.
Pallbearers will be Max Rutledge, Collie Shaw, and E. T. Gregory.
There is no visitation.
Arrangements are by Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville.
