Mildred Emily Land, 98 of Conway, formally of Holland, passed away Monday, October 15, 2012. She was born in Holland, AR on July 14, 1914 to the late Porter and Hattie McGaha DeBerry.
Mildred was also preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Cyril Land, son Mack Land, sisters Elizabeth DeBerry, Faye Price, Elsie Goode, Edith Williams, Martha DeBerry and Juanita Rennie, brothers Harold DeBerry and Mutt DeBerry.
Mildred was the oldest member of Holland Baptist Church and attended school at Holland. She served faithfully in her church for many years. Mildred worked in the shipyards during WWII and in Lands Grocery Store, but the most important job to her was mother, wife, and homemaker. She loved tending to her flowers and spending time with her family.
Mildred is survived by her daughter, Karen Jones of Paducah, KY; granddaughter Nikki Jones of Paducah, KY; and a host of nieces; nephew; family; friends; and loved ones.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., on Friday, October 19, 2012 at Holland Baptist Church with Bros. Jimmy Acklin and Larry White officiating. Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery under the direction of Roller McNutt Funeral Home. Visitation will be 2 hours prior to the service at the church.
The family would like to thank Village Park Assisted Living and Odyssey Hospice for the loving care shown to her and her family.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Holland Baptist Church, 673 Hwy 287, Holland, AR 72173.
